Again, Again, Again, Enough is Enough is Enough, it’s Too Many!!
Please, look twice, and save a life !
I’ve said this many times, and still, car and truck drivers pull out into traffic, looking for other cars and trucks, and they don’t look for, so they don’t see motorcycles.
Yesterday afternoon, it happened again.
The car driver pulls out into traffic, right in front of a motorcycle, broad daylight, good weather, no reason to not see the motorcyclist, and boom there’s a crash !
Under those circumstances, the rider has very little if any chance. No one in the car will be injured. The rider is doing nothing wrong, no speeding, nothing unusual, just riding along, and his day, his life, has changed. Why should that be ? There’s simply no good reason, and all this can be very easily avoided.
Simply take an extra 2 seconds.
That’s all, 2 seconds.
Look left, look right, and look left again, and think to yourself: “are there any motorcycles on the road ?”
And, I’m not inconsiderate for the car driver, either; her life has changed as well. I’m sure this was traumatic for her; she did not do this on purpose, but she was certainly careless. To not see what is there to be seen is simply careless. I’ll bet she looks at least twice next time, every time, hopefully all the time, day and night.
So, use this as a good lesson for all of us. No one wants to be in the shoes of either this car driver or this motorcycle rider.
And, you don’t have to, either.
It’s simple: take that extra 2 seconds: look twice, safe a life.
And encourage others to do the same.
Be safe out there.
