Have fun with family, but be careful!
AAA reports that it expects this weekend to reach record levels of travel since 2008 due to the good weather, lower gas prices, and the improved economy.
AAA Travel projects 35.5 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the Labor Day holiday weekend, the highest travel volume for the holiday since 2008 and a one percent increase over 2014.
That’s all great news, except that it also raises the number of crashes, injuries and deaths.
I hate to sound pessimistic, and I’m not pessimistic; instead, I’m very optimistic that if everyone paid a little more attention, were a little more patient, and don’t use their phones in any way while driving, everyone will have a greater chance of having a fun and safe weekend with their friends and family.
Remember: the goal is to make sure you, and everyone around you is able to go to work or school next Tuesday !!
Have fun, but be careful out there!
