Meet David

David Ransin was born in St. Louis, where he attended Lindbergh High School. Mr. Ransin attended the University of Missouri at Columbia and received a B.S. in Business Administration in 1979. In 1982, David earned his J.D. from the University of Columbia Law School. During law school, David was active in trial and appellate matters, and he was a member of the Order of Barristers and the Board of Advocates.

After graduating law school, David moved to Springfield to establish himself. He worked for a medium-size firm that handles many different types of cases. David focused on defending persons accused of medical negligence. After several years at that firm, David moved on to become an Associate at what was then the largest firm in Springfield, Woolsey, Fisher, Whiteaker & McDonald. During his time there, David split his time between defending personal injury defendants, and representing personal injury plaintiffs. In 1989, David established the law firm of David W. Ransin, P.C. He now represents injury victims and their families exclusively.

David is an active member of the Missouri State Bar Association and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association. He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, and he is an active member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (for which he sits on the Board of Governors) and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Both memberships allow David to help clients and share information and specialized skills with other plaintiff attorneys throughout the state and the nation. David is admitted to practice in Missouri state courts, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and before the U.S. Supreme Court.
